Accounting Assistant | TEC - Jackson, MS

About the Job

The Accounting Assistant will maintain financial records, prepare reports, and update financial information. The Accountant Assistant should be familiar with accounting procedures. The Accounting Assistant will be able to prepare and keep financial business transactions, perform entry-level accounting, compile and check source documents, and provide clerical support and assistance within the Accounting Department.


  • Assists with preparation of general ledgers and financial statements for TEC subsidiaries
  • Codes invoices in Altec DocLink and routes to the appropriate individuals
  • Performs entry-level accounting activities including entering cash receipts
  • Prepares various reconciliations to assist accounting personnel
  • Provides clerical support by preparing customer refund checks and other records
  • Assist accounting department personnel, Manager and Director with other accounting task as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • One or more years of accounting and computer experience is preferred.
  • Requires good organization, presentation, negotiations, and communication skills, including maintaining and meeting various competing deadlines
