WASHINGTON, D.C.   — The Foundation for Rural Education and Development (FRED) awarded $42,886 in grants to sixteen rural public schools from North Carolina to Hawaii. Water Valley High School, located in Water Valley, MS, was selected to receive a $2,500 Technology Grant, which was nominated by TEC. The grant will be used to purchase eight digital projectors and ten digital document cameras for use in the classrooms. Lisa Wigington, Director of Revenue Assurance and Regulatory Compliance, from the TEC Corporate office wrote a letter of recommendation on behalf of Water Valley High School so that the application could be accepted and reviewed.

“TEC stands firm in in our commitment to supporting education initiatives in our rural markets,” said Wigington. ““We are grateful to our customers and are honored to have the opportunity to say thank you through this grant.”
