TEC Video to Continue Carrying Viacom Channels

Jackson, Miss. – The National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) which represents TEC Video, located in Erin, TN has reached an agreement with Viacom to renew carriage of Viacom’s media networks. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Earlier this week, TEC Video faced a possible March 31 blackout due to a disagreement on rates. The blackout never occurred.

The networks affected by the negotiations with Viacom were: BET, Comedy Central, CMT, CMT Pure Country, MTV, MTV2, Nickelodeon, NickToons, TeenNick, Nick Jr., Spike TV, TV Land, VH1 and VH1 Classic Rock.

“TEC is pleased with the representation of NCTC during this negotiation period with Viacom,” said Joey F. Garner, TEC Executive Vice President. “We are thankful that there was no interruption of programming for our customers.”

Judy Meyka, NCTC Executive Vice President of Programming, said: “Viacom is and remains one of NCTC’s largest content providers and we are pleased to have reached an agreement that will provide opportunities for our members to distribute their content over multiple platforms.”
