Fast Fiber Internet Set in Motion for North Carroll County

Bradford, Tennessee (November 7, 2022) – TEC, a leading rural broadband provider, has broken ground in North Carroll County. This project will create connectivity for almost 900 homes and businesses by providing access to Gigabit speed internet. The project will cover an additional 74 miles in the McLemoresville and Huntingdon communities. TEC was awarded $2,709,600 in funding by the USDA Rural Utilities Service to build high-speed internet access to these communities. TEC will provide additional funding of $903,200 for a total build-out construction project of $3,612,800.

“Reliable, high-speed internet in the rural parts of places like Carroll County is incredibly important, which is why we have placed such an emphasis on working with TEC to achieve this,” states Joseph G. Butler, Carroll County Mayor. “For a rural resident, it means access to education, access to important content or people, to a new remote job, for farming operations, an online business or access to another business for shopping, or even surfing the internet or enjoying a streaming service. Whatever the reason, it ultimately improves the quality of life for these individuals, families, and businesses. As it is our primary goal to provide opportunities and to help improve quality of life, we are excited and very grateful for TEC's continued investment in Carroll County.”

Dependable fiber internet connections offer improved quality of life through telemedicine, distance learning, and work-from-home options. Additionally, high-speed broadband provides personal enjoyment, such as video streaming or gaming. TEC’s goal is to minimize the broadband access gap by providing a reliable, high-quality, and affordable internet solution.

"TEC is thrilled to begin the construction of expanded Fast Fiber Internet infrastructure in Carroll County," said Joey Garner, the company's President and CEO. "We are committed to providing top-tier broadband service to our rural customers so that they too can take full advantage of the conveniences that reliable, fast internet access can add to their daily lives."
