Bay Springs, Miss (June 13, 2022) --- TEC, a leading provider of fiber internet to rural communities across the Southeast, has broken ground on construction that will extend broadband access to the Mize and Mount Olive communities. Once completed, this project will provide high-speed internet, phone, and security options to this unserved and underserved area.
“As a teacher, I have witnessed the nation’s transition to internet-based learning, meeting, exploring, etc,” says Rebekah Carlton, Mt. Olive community member and school teacher. The community will be most excited about having access to what their neighbor communities are already enjoying.”
TEC’s goal is to bridge the digital divide by providing a reliable, high-speed internet option that positively impacts the communities it serves. With Fast Fiber Internet from TEC, residents can enjoy access to work-from-home opportunities, digital learning, appointments with physicians via telemedicine, and online video streaming services.
“With Fast Fiber Internet, customers in Mize and Mount Olive will be able to enjoy the benefits of a modern standard of connectivity, with internet speeds reaching up to a full gigabit,” said Joey Garner, President and CEO of TEC. “Fiber is the gold standard of internet service, and TEC is proud to bring it to the area.”
ABOUT THE PROJECT
