TEC completes expansion of Fast Fiber Internet access to Scott County

Bay Springs, Miss (August 18, 2021) --- TEC, a leading provider of Fast Fiber Internet to rural communities across the Southeast, has completed the project to provide underserved Forest, Lake and Morton communities with Fast Fiber Internet. Installations in these communities are actively underway. This project is the fourth of a seven-phase build-out across central Mississippi, with TEC investing just under ten million dollars in fiber internet infrastructure.

With Fast Fiber Internet from TEC, residents can telecommute, easily access digital learning, work with physicians by telemedicine, and enjoy streaming video services. The newly gained fiber access will change the economic landscape for Scott County area businesses, allowing them to have more efficient production of goods and services with a reliable internet connection.

“Our goal is to bridge the digital divide by providing a reliable, high-speed internet option that has positive impacts in the communities where we serve,” said Joey Garner, TEC Executive Vice President. “We are excited to see this project complete and what it means for businesses and residential customers in Scott County. We thank everyone who played roles in getting this project done and we look forward to future projects to further expand our service to more rural areas across Central Mississippi.”
