TEC Introduces xStream Broadband Service

Joey Garner New residential product offering includes faster speeds and stand-alone Internet service

TEC’s new xStream Internet product will deliver faster broadband service to many of its customers and will be offered as a stand-alone service for the first time, or bundled with the company’s residential voice service. xStream offers speeds up to 100 Mbps in some areas.

Joey F. Garner, Executive Vice President of TEC, stated “We’ve had a great demand for stand-alone Internet options that offer broadband without the necessity of a phone line. Our new xStream product line-up gives customers faster, larger and more efficient broadband-only connections through increased fiber networks. We are always thankful for the opportunity to serve our customers, and we hope everyone will enjoy the new xStream Broadband offerings.”

xStream broadband service is positioned to be the primary product delivered through TEC’s A-CAM buildout. A-CAM is a program of the Connect America Fund, designed to ensure that consumers in rural areas have access to networks capable of providing voice and broadband service at rates comparable to those in urban areas. Most of these homes will receive service at speeds of 25 Mbps downstream and 3 Mbps upstream.
